Ready-to-use polymer-based filler

Description

The filler is produced as a ready-to-use mass based on resin binders, lightweight mineral fillers, and modifying additives.

Place of application:

– surfaces of walls and ceilings, inside buildings.
– full-surface puttying of plasterboard.
– grouting of plasterboard using tape.
– pasting corner slats.

Properties:

-Light gray color:

allows for monitoring the progress of work, clearly changing shade during drying and sanding.

facilitates correction of surface imperfections.

provides a neutral base for painting with various colors, including light pastel shades.

-Easy to apply and shape – specially selected rheological parameters allow for application with a trowel, roller, or sprayer without dilution. The filler shows high slip during application, spreads evenly, does not drip from tools, and does not splatter.

-Perfectly smooth, without the need for corrections in the same work area – selected fine-grained mineral fillers allow for achieving a perfectly smooth, velvety surface with the first filling.

-Lightweight mass and stable consistency minimize the worker’s effort:

  • reduced weight of the mass on the tools during application and smoothing.
  • does not require stirring during work for at least 3 hours.

-Durable and elastic – the flexible polymer bonds ensure high adhesion to the substrate and resistance to cracking of filled surfaces, even for a layer up to 5 mm thick.

More information:

Very efficient – average consumption of 0.7 kg / m2 / layer (2 times lower than traditional plaster).

Substrate preparation:

The substrate should be: • load-bearing and seasoned to a surface-dry state – it is assumed that the seasoning time for substrates is as follows:

  • 1 week for every cm of thickness for new gypsum, cement, and cement-lime plasters,
  • 28 days for concrete walls and ceilings. The above data relate to standard conditions (20 °C and 55% humidity). These times may vary under different conditions. • cleaned – from layers that could weaken the adhesion of the plaster, especially from dust, dirt, lime, oils, fats, wax, paint residues, and anti-adhesive agents, • primed
  • with FOX DEKORATOR INITIUM undercoat paint,
  • with FOX DEKORATOR PRIMER primer – in case of excessive absorbency of the substrate.
Mass preparation:

The product is ready to use. Before starting work, the entire content should be thoroughly mixed to homogenize the consistency. Use mixers that do not aerate the mixture. The plaster is ready to use for manual application, and does not require dilution for roller or mechanical application. It is permissible to dilute the plaster with clean water up to 2%.

Applying plaster:

Application with a trowel: The plaster should be evenly applied with a stainless steel trowel, pressing it firmly to the substrate. Do not exceed the maximum thickness of the layer.

Application with a roller: The plaster should be applied with a roller (a recommended polyamide roller dedicated to plasters), evenly spreading it over the substrate. Smooth the applied layer with a stainless steel trowel within 10 minutes of application.

Subsequent layers can be applied in one of two ways:

  • “wet-on-wet” – the next layer can be applied to the previously set layer, whose surface should be matte and dry to the touch, which usually occurs after about 2 hours from application (at a temperature of 20 °C and 55% humidity),
  • “wet-on-dry” – if the next layer is to be applied after hardening and drying of the previous layer, it is recommended to moisten the surface with water.
Surface treatment.

The surface can be worked “wet” or “dry”.

Dust-free surface treatment – “wet”: This can be done after the plaster has hardened. The surface to be worked should be moistened with water using a spray bottle, wait for a moment, and then smooth it with circular movements using a sponge trowel until the desired smoothness is achieved.

Sanding – “dry”: This can be done after the surface has completely dried. It is recommended to use mesh or sandpaper.

Finishing works

Before starting the finishing works, the surface of the putty must be properly dry (after about 24 hours under normal conditions) and cleaned of the dust generated during sanding. Painting and wallpapering should be preceded by priming the substrate according to the recommendations of the paint or wallpaper manufacturer.

When applying paint coatings, the thickness of the layer should not exceed 250 µm. Subsequent layers should be applied with the technological breaks recommended by the manufacturer.

For painting putty, it is recommended to use:

  • FOX DECORATOR CERAMIC and FOX DECORATOR CERAMIC INTENSE ceramic paints,
  • FOX DECORATOR COLOR MATT latex paint.
