What is Ceresit CT710?

Ceresit CT710 Visage is a specialized Natural Stone Effect Render used to create decorative finishes that mimic granite or sandstone. Made from a combination of natural and modified aggregates with a transparent resin binder, it is highly durable, weather-resistant, and soil-resistant. It is the premier choice for architectural features like plinths, entrances, and decorative facade panels.

  • Is Ceresit CT710 suitable for high-traffic areas?
Yes. Because CT710 is a resin-bound stone render, it is extremely tough and impact-resistant. It is specifically designed for building plinths (the bottom section of the wall), hallways, and entrance areas that are subject to heavy wear and tear.
  • Do I need a special primer for Ceresit CT710 Stone Master?
You must use Ceresit CT16 Primer. For the best visual result, the CT16 should be tinted to a color that matches the natural stone aggregates in the CT710 to ensure no background color "ghosting" occurs.
  • How does CT710 handle dirt and pollution?
CT710 is formulated with a "self-cleaning" property. The resin binder is highly hydrophobic (water-repellent), meaning dirt is washed away by rain, and the surface is resistant to the growth of mold and algae.
  1. Substrate Check: The surface must be perfectly flat, dry, and primed with Ceresit CT16.
  2. Mixing: Stir the resin and aggregates thoroughly using a low-speed mixer. Note: Do not use rusty tools, as they can stain the transparent resin.
  3. Application: Apply a layer to the thickness of the aggregate using a stainless steel float.
  4. Smoothing: Unlike standard renders, CT710 should be smoothed in one direction only to ensure the natural stone chips lay flat and catch the light evenly.
  5. Curing: Protect from rain for at least 24 hours. The resin will appear "milky" at first but will dry to a completely transparent, glass-like finish.
  • Pro-Tip for Plinths: When using CT710 on a building plinth, ensure the DPC (Damp Proof Course) is respected. While CT710 is water-resistant, it should not be used as a replacement for structural tanking.
  • Pro-Tip for Large Areas: To avoid visible joints, always work in a "wet-on-wet" fashion. On large elevations, use masking tape to create "architectural joints" or panels, which makes the application easier and enhances the stone-block appearance.
