What is Ceresit CT74?
Ceresit CT74 is a premium, ready-to-use silicone render known for its "Double Dry" technology. It is highly hydrophobic, self-cleaning, and breathable, making it ideal for the wet UK climate. It is most commonly used as a final decorative finish over External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems like EPS or Mineral Wool.

Application "Checklist":
- Prepare Substrate: Ensure surface is dry, clean, and primed with Ceresit CT16.
- Mix: Stir the bucket thoroughly with a low-speed drill. Do not add more than 1% water.
- Apply: Use a stainless steel float held at an angle to apply at the thickness of the grain.
- Finish: Use a plastic float in circular motions to achieve the "stone" texture.
- Protect: Use scaffolding nets to protect against direct sunlight and rain during drying.
- Pro Tip: To avoid visible joints (lap marks), ensure you have enough labor to finish an entire elevation "wet-on-wet" without stopping.
- Pro Tip: If working in colder months, check if you need a winter additive (like CT 240) to speed up the drying process, though CT74 is strictly for +5°C and above.
CERESIT® CT 74 is used for making thin-layer plasters on concrete substrates, traditional plasters, gypsum substrates and chipboards, gypsum cardboards. We recommend the application of CT 74 as façade plaster within CERESIT ETICS / EWI with the use of EPS-boards and Mineral Wool. CT 74 plaster is recommended to be applied to the partitions where high permeability is required and it is protected form biological paralyses.
