Ceresit CT60 - acrylic render 1.5mm
What is Ceresit CT60?
Ceresit CT60 is a high-performance Acrylic Render designed for thin-layer decorative finishes on external walls. It is the most cost-effective solution in the Ceresit range, offering exceptional color stability and mechanical durability. It is particularly recommended for use in the Ceresit Ceretherm EWI systems where high resistance to impact and vibrant color retention are required.

- Is Ceresit CT60 better than silicone render?
It depends on your priority. Ceresit CT60 (Acrylic) is generally more budget-friendly and holds very bright or "neon" colors better than silicone. However, if your building requires high breathability (like mineral wool insulation), a silicone render like Ceresit CT74 is preferred. - Can CT60 be used on Mineral Wool insulation?
No. Acrylic renders like CT60 have lower vapour permeability. For Mineral Wool systems, you should use silicone or silicate-silicone renders to allow the system to "breathe." CT60 is ideal for EPS (Polystyrene) insulation systems. - How do I maintain an Acrylic Render finish?
Ceresit CT60 features the BioProtect formula, which resists fungal growth. To clean it, simply use a low-pressure power wash with mild detergent once a year to remove surface dust and maintain its vibrant color.
- Substrate Preparation: Ensure the base is smooth, dry, and clean.
- Priming: Use Ceresit CT16. For CT60, it is vital to tint the primer to match the render color to ensure full coverage.
- Mixing: Stir the 25kg tub with a slow-speed mixer. If the weather is very hot, you may add up to 1% clean water (250ml) to improve workability.
- Application: Apply with a stainless steel float at a thickness corresponding to the grain size.
- Texturing: While the render is still "wet," use a plastic float to create the desired "stone" (Strukton) texture.
- Pro-Tip on Temperature: Do not apply CT60 in direct, scorching sunlight. Because it is acrylic-based, it can dry too quickly on the surface (skinning), which leads to visible "join lines" between different sections of the wall.
- Pro-Tip on Color Choice: If you are choosing a very dark color (HBW < 25%), consider upgrading to the elastomeric Ceresit CT79 to better handle thermal expansion.
CERESIT® CT 60 is used for making thin-layer plasters on concrete substrates, traditional plasters, gypsum substrates and chipboards, gypsum cardboards. CT 60 can be used within complex system of warming walls of outside buildings CERESIT Ceretherm ETICS/EWI with the application of EPS-boards. Plaster CT 60 is protected from biological paralyses, e.g. fungus, mould and algae.
