What is Cekol Termo W2?
Cekol Termo W2 is a high-strength, cement-based Universal Mortar designed for fixing mineral wool insulation boards and creating the reinforced basecoat layer. - Can I use Cekol Termo W2 for EPS (Polystyrene)?
While Termo W2 is specifically optimized for the fibrous nature of Mineral Wool, it can be used for EPS. However, for standard EPS projects, many contractors prefer Cekol Termo S or Termo S+, which are specifically formulated for polystyrene and offer a more cost-effective solution. - Why is Termo W2 recommended for Mineral Wool?
Mineral Wool systems are typically chosen for their fire resistance and breathability. Cekol Termo W2 supports these properties by offering a high vapour-diffusion rate, ensuring that moisture doesn't get trapped within the insulation layer, which maintains the thermal efficiency of the building. - What is the drying time for Cekol Termo W2?
Under standard conditions (+20°C), the mortar sets sufficiently for mechanical fixing (insulation pins) within 24 to 48 hours. Before applying the final render, the basecoat layer should be allowed to dry for at least 3 to 5 days, depending on the weather.
- Mixing: Mix one 25kg bag with approx. 5.5L – 6.0L of clean water. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes, then mix again.
